License Agreement
Copyright (c) 2026 Taskivator. All Rights Reserved.
This software and its documentation ("the Software") are licensed, not sold. By purchasing, activating, or using the Software you ("the Licensee") agree to these terms.
1. Grant
On purchase and activation of the Licensee's BugIt account (a browser sign in to the BugIt Portal that approves the device, with no license key to enter), Taskivator grants the Licensee a nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use the Software for internal QA and bug reporting purposes, on the number of devices allowed by the purchased tier (Solo: 1 device at a time; Team: up to 5 members, each activating their own device, managed in the BugIt Portal).
2. Accounts and seats
The Licensee's BugIt account and its entitlement are personal to the Licensee. The Licensee may not share, publish, resell, sublicense, or transfer the account, its entitlement, or its device authorizations. Taskivator may suspend or revoke an entitlement, or an individual Team seat, that is shared, published, refunded, charged back, or used fraudulently or in breach of these terms; a revoked entitlement stops activating on new devices and its active devices lose authorization.
3. Modification and anti-circumvention
The Licensee may edit configuration, glossary, templates, and instruction files for their own internal use. The Licensee may not disable, bypass, remove, or circumvent the Software's licensing, activation, seat, device binding, or update verification mechanisms, nor use the Software without a valid, active license.
4. Restrictions
The Licensee may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, publish, or make the Software, original or modified, available to third parties, or remove or alter this notice or any copyright or license information. Editing files for the Licensee's own internal use under clause 3 does not permit copying the Software, its instructions, prompts, templates, or tools into another project, product, or agent, or giving them to another person or team.
5. Ownership
Taskivator retains all right, title, and interest in the Software, including all intellectual property rights. This license grants use rights only; it does not transfer ownership.
6. Your data
Settings in config.json and any content you create are yours. The Software runs on the Licensee's own machine and does not send project, ticket, glossary, or tracker data to Taskivator. See PRIVACY.md.
7. Term
BugIt is a one year license, not a subscription: it does not renew automatically, and there is no recurring charge. Your purchase grants a one year license, including updates and license and activation services, that begins on the date of purchase. When the year ends the license expires; a 3-day grace period follows, during which the Software continues to work. Continued use then requires a new license, which you may choose to buy, and Taskivator never charges you automatically. If there is any conflict between a translation of these terms and the English version, the English version governs, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or remedy you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of your country of residence that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Reviewing what you file
The Software helps you draft and file bug reports; it does not replace your own judgment. Please review each report, comment, or change before approving it, and use the Software in line with the terms of the tools you connect it to. BugIt shows a preview before it changes a connected tracker or sends a notification that carries your report, asks for a direct approval for each one, offers a dry run mode that writes nothing, and redacts secrets it detects. Connection tests that you start yourself with notify connect, notify test or notify doctor --live can send a fixed test message without that preview; those tests carry no report content, and dry run blocks them. These safeguards are designed to help you catch mistakes before they leave your machine, and they work best alongside your review.
9. No warranty
The Software is provided "AS IS", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, except for warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Taskivator's total liability for any claim arising from the Software is limited to the amount the Licensee paid for it, and Taskivator is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages. Nothing in this clause limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, the Licensee will defend and indemnify Taskivator against third party claims arising from the Licensee's unlawful use of the Software, intentional misuse of it, or content the Licensee supplied through it. This clause does not apply to ordinary use of the Software in accordance with these terms, and it does not apply where the law of the Licensee's country of residence does not permit it.
12. Termination
This license ends automatically if its terms are breached. On termination the Licensee must stop using the Software.
13. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence.
14. Disputes
Claims relating to this agreement or the Software may be brought in the courts of Japan. If you are a consumer, this does not affect your right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, or any other right to a forum that the mandatory law of that country gives you.
15. Package identification
Each download may contain a pseudonymous package identifier used for license administration and investigation of unauthorised redistribution. It does not contain account credentials and does not independently transmit data. See PRIVACY.md.
